Fikes <br />Draft Application <br />(Under Separate Cover) TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane -- 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To receive comments from the public concerning the proposed <br />FY 1991 Housing Development Grant Application and authorize <br />submission of a Letter of Intent by July 1, 1991 and the <br />application document by July 31, 1991. <br />BACKGROUND: The North Carolina Department of Economic and Community <br />Development Department (ECD) has announced the availability <br />of funds under the Housing Development Grant Program. A <br />public hearing was held on March 4, 1991 to receive <br />citizen comments prior to developing a grant application. <br />As a result of the comments received at this public <br />hearing,-County staff has worked with Orange Congregations <br />in Mission (OCIM) to prepare an application for funds to <br />assist them their efforts to construct a 35 unit <br />multifamily rental development to be known as Whitted <br />Forest in the northern section of Hillsborough. <br />Specifically, any funds received would be used by OCIM for <br />actual construction of this development.
