Your award is for $5117. The 41 proposals submitted this
year covered a variety of topics and demonstrated a great deal of
creativity and planning.
Each proposal underwent a rigorous review process. The review
committee was kept blind with respect to authorship and
affiliation. The set of criteria used to score each proposal
included: documentation of community need, appropriateness of
goal and objectives, appropriateness of process and outcome
evaluation methods, effective use of resources, and likelihood of
project success. Decisions were made based on average scores and
level of agreement between the reviewers.
We'would like to share with you some of the review committee's
comments regarding the strong components of your proposal as well
as suggestions for improvement.
1. Documentation of community need was well done.
2. The project could have been strengthened by, seeking more
extensive community involvement.
3. The project could have been strengthened by developing an
outcome objective to measure the increased correct use of car
seats and by collecting observational data to evaluate the
project.
The Injury Prevention Branch requires at least one site visit to
your health department during the first quarter of the project.
The Program Consultant assigned to you will contact you o set a
date and time for this meeting. This meeting will be an ,
opportunity for the Project Director and the Program Consultant
to get acquainted and review the project development and
implementation plan.
An Enual Opoortu.iity Affirmative Action Emnloyer
