It presently serves 11,800 units, including several <br />businesses located adjacent to residential areas. <br />The collection from the curbside program is about 160 tons per month of newspaper, <br />glass bottles and aluminum beverage cans. Monthly participation is estimated at 75% <br />system wide, with a 41% weekly set -out rate. <br />The program provides education and outreach on an onoing basis through public <br />service announcements, newsletters to volunteers and news releases. <br />Kev Obiectives for 1991 -92 <br />To continue to provide contracted, weekly curbside recycling for all single - family <br />residences in Hillsborough, Carrboro and Chapel Hill. <br />To provide one outreach mailing to all households in the program. <br />To collect at least 160 tons per month of newspaper, glass bottles, and aluminum <br />cans from single - family residential waste stream. <br />14 <br />W <br />f <br />
