ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT 011. <br />306F REVERE ROAD <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br />•' are•`'' <br />Dear Resident: <br />In April, 1987, the Orange County Board of Commissioners adopted a house Numbering <br />Ordinance which authorizes the conversion of rural routes and box numbers, and <br />standardizes the house numbering sequence for all Orange County addresses. The <br />project has been very successful in building the framework for support of vital <br />county functions such as voter registration, 911 emergency service, Geographic <br />Information Service (GIS) coordination, as well as improving mail delivery to a <br />permanent street address. Fine tuning of the house numbering project continues with <br />the following: <br />Timberlake partial rural route 2 and the stoneridge /Sedgefield Community are now <br />being proposed for a change to house numbers consistent with the County -wide system. <br />On Tuesday, May 28, 1991, a Public Hearing will be held before the Orange County <br />Board of Commissioners to consider the proposed assignment of house numbers to <br />residences and buildings in these two areas; Timberlake partial route 2 in northern <br />Little River Township, and the stoneridge /Sedgefield Community, served by the Chapel <br />Hill Post Office (old Rural Route 8). The hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the <br />Superior Courtroom of the New County Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />if approved, residents will be required to display their new number on their mailbox <br />with numerals at least one (1) inch high. This should be done within 30 days after <br />official notification has been received from the Planning Department. <br />The proposed NEW ADDRESS which reflects the physical location of your residence at <br />tax map reference is as follows <br />OLD ADDRESS NEW ADDRESS <br />If you wish to speak in regard to this proposal, please attend the Public Hearing. <br />we ask, however, that you confine your comments to specific concerns regarding the <br />assigned house number or street address.
