The four <br />jurisdictions contracted with Coulter Associates, Landscape <br />Architects & Land Planners, to prepare a master plan for the <br />corridor. Prepared with the assistance of a multi- jurisdictional <br />Advisory Committee, the New Hope Corridor Open Space Master Plan <br />was presented to elected officials of the four jurisdictions on <br />April 30, 1991. <br />The Plan includes recommendations far acquiring critical <br />environmental areas such as stream beds, floodplains, steep slopes, <br />and larger tracts of historic, educational or recreational value. <br />Acquisition could be through donation, purchase in fee simple or <br />purchase of development rights. The Plan also recommends a scenic <br />road designation along N.C. Highway 751. <br />ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENTS <br />The proposed amendments to the Orange County Zoning Atlas Are <br />as follows: <br />1. Z -1 -91 James R. Sparrow <br />The property in question is located on the north side of N.C. <br />Highway 54 between Morrow Mill Road (SR 1958) and Orange Grove <br />Road (SR 1006). The property contains 2.94 acres and is <br />specifically described as Lot 27A of Tax Map 26 in Bingham <br />Township. The property fronts on N.C. Highway 54 for a <br />distance of 300 feet and has a depth of 350 feet. The current <br />zoning designation of the property is AR - Agricultural <br />Residential and NC -2 Neighborhood Commercial -2. The proposed <br />zoning designation is LC -1 Local Commercial -1. <br />2. Z -2 -91 W.E. Blackwood <br />The property in question is located on the north side of N.C. <br />Highway 54 between White Cross Road (SR 1952) and Dodsons <br />Cross Road South (SR 1102). The property contains 3.00 acres <br />and is specifically described as part of Lot 9 of Tax Map 30 <br />and part of Lot 13 of Tax Map 30B in Bingham Township. The <br />property fronts on N.C. Highway 54 for a distance of 532 feet <br />and has a depth of 414 feet. The current zoning designation of <br />the property is R -1 Rural Residential and LC -1 Local <br />Commercial -1. The proposed zoning designation on 2.35 acres of <br />the property is LC -1 Local Commercial -1.
