ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />306F REVERE ROAD <br />- HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br />(01 <br />001 <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />ON <br />THE PROPOSED ASSIGNMENT OF HOUSE NUMBERS TO RURAL POSTAL ROUTES, <br />ON PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE ZONING ATLAS, ZONING ORDINANCE, AND <br />SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS FOR ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, <br />AND <br />ON A PROPOSED OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN FOR THE NEW.HOPE CREEK <br />CORRIDOR _ <br />Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina, Chapter 153A, Article 18, Sections 323 and 343, and <br />Article 12, Section 240; Article 20, Sections 20.5 and 20.6, and <br />Articles 2,2,12 and 2.2.13 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance; <br />and Section VIII of the Orange County Subdivision Regulations, <br />notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held in the <br />Superior Courtroom of the Orange County Courthouse (New), 106 East <br />Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Tuesday, May 28, <br />1991, at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of giving all interested <br />citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the following <br />items: <br />ASSIGNMENT OF HOUSE & BUILDING NUMBERS <br />The postal service routes proposed for a change from existing <br />rural box numbers to a system of permanently assigned house and <br />building numbers are as follows: <br />1. Rural Route 2 - Timberlake Subdivision <br />This partial route affects approximately 35 residents adjacent <br />to the Person County line and involves the following roads:. <br />Bacon, Berry, Gray, Sawyer, and N.C. 157 West. <br />2. Rural Route 8 - Stoneridge and Sedgefield Subdivisions <br />This partial route affects approximately 240 residents on 23 <br />separate roads in the two subdivisions. The area is located <br />east of Turkey Farm Road and along the north and south side of <br />Whitfield Road. <br />NEW HOPE CORRIDOR OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN <br />In 1989, the governing boards of Orange County, Chapel Hill, <br />Durham, and Durham County recognized the value of an open space <br />corridor linking the Eno River State Park, lands along New Hope <br />
