Jli 3 i991
CP
June 11, 1991
34 Sedgewood Road
Chapel Hill, NC 27514
Mr. Moses Carey, Chairman
Orange County Commissioners
P. O. Box 8181
Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278
SUBJECT: STANDARDIZING OF ROUSE NUMBERING IN
STONERIDGE /SEDGEFIELD
Dear Moses:
I will writing to state my strong opposition to changing of the
house numbering system in Stoneridge /Sedgefield neighborhood. My
reasons of opposition are the following:
1. We are not currently on a rural route and have a house
numbering system which has worked efficiently for 12
years.
2. Stoneridge /Sedgefield is a large planned community
which is fully developed with a planned numbering
system in place.
3. The renumbering of our neighborhood would not enhance
our 911 emergency system. We need a central telephone
company as you and I have discussed in the past. Our
emergency service problems have not been in our numbering
system but in automatically reaching Durham rather than
Chapel Hill when requesting emergency service.
4. The change would not be beneficial in the GIS
coordination.
I hope you will consider the above and not vote to make this
change. It would inconvenience and penalize the citizens of our
area. You know the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it ";
I think it is very applicable in this situation.
If you would like to discuss this further, please give me a call
at work 248 -2558 or home 490 -5138.
Best regards,
9 o an Pulley
D
