32 <br />6 marc,. ' 99,1 <br />Lear <br />Orance County has received a preliminary Housing <br />Development Grant award from the N.C. Department of Economic <br />and Community Development to provide funds to be used for <br />road construction /paving in the Habitat for Humanity <br />sponsored Chestnut Oaks subdivision. <br />Chestnut Oaks is a planned 34 unit subdivision located <br />in the Bingham Township on the west side of Jo Mac Road <br />(SR 1103) which will provide homeownership opportunities for <br />low and moderate income persons. The subdivision has received <br />Karel i,:ii.,ary plat approval from the County as a cluster <br />subdivision containing 34 one -acre lots served by public <br />roads, individual septic tanks and community wells, with <br />31.42 acres in open space. Seven of the homes in the <br />development have been completed. <br />The County is conducting an environmental assessment of <br />the project to determine whether the project activities will <br />adversely affect the neighborhood. In order to complete the <br />environmental review, your assistance is needed. <br />To facilitate your review, enclosed is a copy of the <br />Preliminary subdivision map and a form which you may use to <br />complete your review. Please feel free to provide additional <br />comments and return to the address indicated on the form. <br />Also, please inform us of any special permits which may be <br />required as a result of the project. <br />A prompt response would be appreciated and will assist <br />us during the planning stages of project development.
