3 <br />Phase IV was the court hearings. Chief District Court <br />.judge Patricia Hunt began hearing cases at 9 A.M. on <br />September 17. In the afternoon, judge Stanley Peele joined <br />judge Hunt in hearing cases. By 5:00 P.M. 150 hearings had <br />been held. <br />More than $1?.000 child support was collected during the <br />hearings on September 17th. Collections for august, 1 ?90 , <br />were 17% higher than for August, 1989; and collections <br />for September, 1990, were Wn higher than the previous <br />year ($195,353.09 to $153,030.01). <br />The Child Support Council's awards recognized the high level <br />of inter- agency cooperation that exists in Orange County and <br />the County's commitment to children. <br />
