PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO:XX <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br />EXT 2650 <br />Telephone Number - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill -967 -9251 <br />Mebane -227 -2031 <br />Durham -688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approving additional architect fees for the <br />Government Services Center. <br />BACKGROUND: As the Board may recall, at the time final plans were <br />approved for the Government Services Building and the response to the <br />Hillsborough Historic District Commission was considered we indicated <br />that there would be some re-- design work required. we are pleased to <br />announce that Hakan /Corley has offered to do the re- design work at <br />cost, for a sum of $4,300; the original estimate was $7,000. It is <br />anticipated that the additional cost will be funded through the reserve <br />for contingency within the project. <br />It may be of interest for you to know that bids for this project will <br />be received at 3:00 p.m., June 6, 1991. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve an additional $4,300 to Hakan /Corley & <br />Associates for fees related to re- design work. <br />
