7 <br />7.Provide more flexible schedules for students. <br />ongoing Orange county schools are exploring the Comprehensive <br />Concept, a flexible plan which allows individual schools <br />to provide better services to and options for students. <br />Plan components address flexible scheduling and extension <br />of the school day. <br />8.Alter expectations about "normal" time in which a student <br />should finish high school. <br />ongoing Orange County Schools have established an Early Graduation <br />Task Force which is exploring this concern. <br />9.Consider an extended day program in which high school <br />students may attend school after work. A Director was hired in January <br />1991. <br />Ongoing The Orange County Community Advisory Council will explore <br />models for networking of human services delivery to <br />promote coordination and prevent duplication of services. <br />Ongoing The drop --out prevention /at -risk coordinators from Chapel <br />Hill - Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Schools are <br />jointly examining human services delivery models to <br />explore more effective and cost - efficient approaches.
