Human Resources and Environment- Tlie intent of <br />the Policy Statements is to give continuity and consistency in the Association's policy positions and are <br />included in the publication of Legislative Goals adopted in December, 1990. Counties and affiliate <br />groups also can propose amendments to the Policy Statements for consideration at Annual Conference, <br />but these too must be submitted to the Association office no later than July 19, 1991. <br />UTSTANDING COUNTY C MMISSIONER AWARD <br />One of the Association's major awards at the Annual Conference is the Outstanding County Contmi�- <br />sioner Award which is presented to a county commissioner who has made special achievements and ef- <br />forts during the past year of service.. These efforts should positively affect county government <br />throughout the state. To nominate a commissioner for the 1991 award, please send a nominating letter <br />and ally supporting materials to: NCACC. P. O. Box 1488, Raleigh, NC 27602 -1488. Nominations <br />must be received by July 3, 1991. <br />R PRIZE SQLICITATIONS <br />There will be a significant change in the Door Prize System this year. Due to a dwindling number of <br />items submitted to give away as exhibit hall or spouse program gifts, there will be a change�in the Types <br />and number of prizes solicited to give away. Each county is asked to submit at least ONE 1 RiZE <br />WORTH AT LEAST $100 to give away as an exhibit hall grand prize or as a Saturday night banquet <br />grand prize. We will not have drawings for small gifts at every exhibit hall booth, but there will be one <br />central drawing box to handle several grand prize drawings. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANY <br />PRIZES WORTH LESS -THAN $100 AS WE HAVE NO PROCEDURE FOR DISTRif3U'1'ING <br />THEM. <br />If you do bring a door prize, please identify it as follows: <br />1. Place an identification card on the prize which lists the name of your county, the naune and ad- <br />dress of the donating business and the name of the county official responsible for the donation (if <br />applicable.) <br />2.
