Hill Town Council, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen and the <br />12 Orange County Planning Board for a Joint Planning Public Hearing on <br />13 August 30, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was held in the auditorium <br />14 of Phillips Junior High School, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. <br />15 <br />16 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />17 <br />18 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Moses Carey, <br />19 Jr., and Commissioners Stephen Halkiotis, John Hartwell, Shirley E. <br />20 Marshall and Don Willhoit. <br />21 CHAPEL HILL TOWN COUNCIL: Mayor Jonathan Howes and Council <br />22 Members Julie Andresen, Joyce Brown, Joe Herzenberg, and Arthur <br />23 Werner. <br />24 CARRBORO BOARD OF ALDERMEN:. OPENING REMARKS FROM THE CHAIRMAN <br />39 Moses Carey, Jr. called the meeting to order and welcomed <br />40 the members of the Carrboro Board of Aldermen, the Chapel Hill Town <br />41 Council, staff members from the two municipalities, the Rural <br />42 Character Study Committee and the citizens to the Joint Planning <br />43 Public Hearing. <br />44 <br />45 B. JOINT PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING <br />49 <br />50 COMMENTS FROM MEMBERS OF THE RURAL CHARACTER STUDY COMMITTEE <br />51 CLINT BURKLIN, Chairman of the Rural Character Study <br />52 Committee stated that the Committee is composed of a broad sampling of <br />53 the many groups that work and live in the rural buffer as well as <br />54 other groups in the county.
