30.. <br />staff and the committee is developing ordinance language. <br />October-2-9--Chapel-Hill Town Council: <br />After lengthy discussion, the Council voted to defer action on Town <br />administration's recommendation to approve the amended package, and <br />adopted another part of the recommendation asking OWASA for <br />assistance on the question of public oversight alternative systems. <br />February 25 Town Council: <br />After receiving a discussion paper from OWASA staff, the Council <br />adopted an administration recommendation to adopt a portion of the <br />amendments. The portion adopted adds text language permitting five - <br />acre and two -acre lot development options (which do not require <br />sewer) as well as other minor changes. The resolution also called <br />for a Joint Work Group of elected officials to be established. <br />March- 18 Oran a Count Plan 'n Board: <br />With the conclusion of Town consideration, the County Planning <br />Board recommended the September 20 version of the package (as <br />adopted by Carrboro). The Planning Board felt that the partial <br />adoption taken by Chapel Hill would undermine the chemistry of the <br />strategic package, not implement the options that would do the most <br />to protect rural character, and eliminate the impetus for future <br />consideration of the proposals as a whole. <br />April 11 Robert Frielich Meeting with Staffs /Attorneys: <br />Noted national growth management attorney Robert Frielich spoke at <br />Chapel Hill Town Hall, noting methods which could be used to solve <br />sewer extension dilemma. <br />April 22 Orancre County Planning Board: <br />The Planning Board adopted a- -resolution affirming their March 18 <br />rationale for recommending the September 20 version. <br />
