Posters will be printed highlighting alternative transportation modes <br />such as car -van pooling, busing, biking or walking. These "Kick the <br />Driving Habit" posters will be distributed throughout the Triangle <br />area. <br />2. The Triangle Network for Transportation will be collecting and <br />distributing informational and education facts to the area media and <br />encouraging P.S.A.'s and stories by reporters. <br />3. The Transportation Alternatives week activities will start in <br />Carrboro on April 20th and in Durham on April 21st. This <br />proclamation will be displayed. They will ask people to pledge to <br />use an alternative to the single- occupancy automobile at least once <br />during the week. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve the Proclamation proclaiming April 21st - -April <br />27th as Transportation Alternatives Week. <br />
