Fikes <br />Proclamation <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />- <br />PURPOSE: To proclaim April 1 - 7, 1991 as Community Development Week <br />in Orange County to recognize the significant contribution <br />the Community Development Block Grant Program has provided <br />to the low and moderate income residents of Orange County. <br />BACKGROUND: The National Community Development Association, the U.S. <br />Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities and the <br />National Association of Counties are continuing efforts in <br />support of National Community Development Week - April 1 - <br />7, 1991. They are urging all cities and counties to support <br />this week by proclaiming Community Development Week in <br />their respective localities. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Adopt a resolution designating April 1 7, 1991 as <br />Community Development Week and authorize the Chair to sign <br />the proclamation on behalf of the Board. <br />
