PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />and the National Association of County Commissioners <br />have urged citizens across the state to learn more <br />about county government's role in our lives and to be <br />more involved as county citizens and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County government has served the citizens of the <br />County since 1752 and we are responsible for a growing <br />number of services which have direct impact on local <br />citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, The elected and appointed officials in county <br />government take great pride in serving the citizens of <br />the County and in being directly involved in shaping <br />the future; and <br />WHEREAS, Citizens may learn more about community needs and <br />resources through community outreach efforts provided <br />by County officials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Board of Commissioners do hereby proclaim the <br />week of April 7 through April 13, 1991, as Orange <br />County Government Week, and further urge all citizens <br />to become more familiar with county government. <br />This the 1st day of April, 1991. <br />By: <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Chair <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
