DRAFT <br />STATEMENT TO THE N.C. BOARD OF TRANSPORTATION <br />APRIL 17, 1991 <br />There are numerous transportation improvement needs in <br />orange County. The County's population increased by almost <br />22% between 1980 and 1990, making it one of the fastest <br />growing counties in the state. The impacts of this growth <br />are resulting in severe deficiencies in our transportation <br />network. <br />To address these deficiencies, Orange County requests <br />that specific projects be included in the Transportation <br />Improvement Program. The projects include those identified <br />by the County as well as those listed in each of the attached <br />requests from the County's municipalities.
