2 <br />i <br />The firm is prepared to begin immediately following the Board's <br />approval of the contract. They estimate that the design work will take <br />approximately 6 -8 weeks,'contingent upon the level of involvement from <br />the Planning Committee. <br />It is anticipated that the Planning Committee will be comprised of <br />representatives of the advisory Boards to Aging, Recreation and Parks, <br />a JOCCA representative, Community citizens, a County Commissioner, a <br />County School Board member and County staff. This group will meet with <br />the Architect initially to provide input on the design and then again <br />to review the final plan, prior to its acceptance by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />The tentative schedule allows bids to'be taken no later than <br />June, 1991, with an anticipated completion date in late Fall, 1991. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the recommendation and contract of LCDA for <br />the Efland- Cheeks Community Center and Park Project; and authorize the <br />chair to sign the contract on behalf of the Board. <br />
