Three firms were interviewed by a <br />selection team comprised of an Assistant County Manager, the County <br />Engineer and the Purchasing & Central Services Director. The firms <br />interviewed include: LCDA (Lucy Carol Davis Associates), Chapel Hill; <br />Michael Hining Architects, Chapel Hill; and Tise Architects, PA, <br />Chapel Hill. <br />Selection criteria included such factors as similar projects and their <br />outcome, qualifications of the project team, time -frame under which the <br />firm could begin the project, and past work experience with planning <br />committees. <br />The selection committee recommends the firm of LCDA for this project. <br />Some of their recent projects include: <br />The Orange County Public Works Administration Building; <br />" "The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, which includes Aging /JOCCA <br />facilities; and <br />--The proposed Carrboro Town Commons which includes a park, <br />bandstand and market shelters. <br />In addition, the firm's Principal, Lucy Carol Davis, has designed <br />numerous playground and park buildings prior to the formation of LCDA. <br />
