BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />ORANGE COUNTY request its legislative delegation to support: <br />1. the need for a permanent, stable revenues source <br />instead of the present appropriations to reimburse local <br />governments for past repeal of other local revenues; <br />2. state -wide enabling legislation authorizing local <br />option revenues including admissions, real estate transfer, <br />occupancy (hotel /motel) and the extension of local sales taxes to <br />the purchase of autos, boats and planes; <br />3. more frequent distribution of local sales tax proceeds <br />or payment of interest for the period that they are held by the <br />state; <br />4. state adherence to a schedule of timely payments of <br />sales tax proceeds to county governments in compliance with state <br />fiscal policy; <br />5. the need for a revenue source to support the Triangle <br />Transportation Authority; and <br />6. state -wide legislation to encourage recycling of <br />beverage containers through deposit and refund requirements. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner , seconded by <br />Commissioner <br />, the foregoing Resolution was adopted <br />this the 20th day of March, 1991. <br />Ayes <br />3 <br />N <br />
