8. Revenue source(s) for the Triangle Transportation Authority. <br />Representatives of the Authority have indicated in January they <br />would seek the Town's support of revenue authorizations such as a <br />tax on rental cars. <br />9. Annexation statutes. <br />The League staff is concerned that there may be bills introduced <br />to restrict annexation initiated by cities and towns. The League <br />would oppose such a proposal. <br />Y believe annexation is appropriate and equitable for areas which <br />have become urban or are in the process of becoming urban. The <br />value of property just outside a city or town tends to reflect the <br />amenities including public services in an urban area. <br />
