Tinney <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER: ext. 2669 <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To request that the Orange County Board of Commissioners proclaim <br />the week of April 22-.27, 1991, as Orange County Senior Games Events Days, <br />and encourage citizens over the age of 55 to participate in the Games. <br />BACKGROUND: Orange County Senior Games is a year -round wellness program <br />for persons age 55 or older, sponsored by: Orange County Recreation and <br />Parks, Orange County Department on Aging, Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, <br />and Carrboro Recreation and Parks. The program is funded through these <br />agencies, through donations received from the community, and through <br />participant fees. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Approve as presented. <br />
