ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Action Agenda <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT Item No. X1 <br />Meeting Date: March 4, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS <br />DEPARTMENT: Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO: X <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover INFORMATION CONTACT: - Beverly Blythe <br />Ext. 2130 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To maintain membership at effective levels on Commissioners' <br />appointed boards and commissions. <br />BACKGROUND: The following recommendatins are presented for the Board's <br />consideration. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION: Appoint Richard T. Williams to <br />fill the vacancy for an "At Large" representative. His unexpired term <br />ends in June, 1993 and he will be eligible to serve two full terms. <br />JOINT ORANGE - CHATHAM COMMUNITY ACTION BOARD: Appoint Jean Wagner <br />to fill the vacant "Citizen" representative slot. There is no time <br />limit on service with this group. The towns of Carrboro and Hillsborough <br />have been notified of the vacancies in the "Government" representation <br />area of the JOCCA Board. <br />LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES: Consider the recommendation of the Library <br />Board of Trustees in filling the vacancy created by the resignation of <br />Mrs. Helen Heriford. This unexpired term will end June 30, 1991 and the <br />candidate would be eligible for reappointment to a six -year term. The <br />two candidates are Mrs. Florence Kuster and Mr. E. G. "Jerry" Eidenier. <br />ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING BOARD: Appoint Deloris Ramsey to a first term <br />as the "Little River" representative. This three -year term will end in <br />February, 1994. Reappoint Elizabeth Eidenier and Amanda Carol Cantrell to <br />serve a second full term which also will end in February, 1994. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): As the Board decides. <br />
