Initiate data base for conventional and non - <br />conventional systems. <br />B. Determine need based on data base. <br />C. Board of Health revise local sewage disposal rule. <br />D. Implement monitoring inspections. <br />E. Develop educational plan for conventional and non - <br />conventional systems. <br />GOAL - DEVELOP A DATA COLLECTION PROCESS AND A SERIES OF <br />MODELS FOR ASSISTANCE IN THE EFFORT TO DETERMINE <br />THE IMPACTS OF VARIOUS LAND USES AND WASTE TREATMENT <br />OPTIONS ON THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF THE GROUND <br />AND SURFACE WATER RESOURCES OF ORANGE COUNTY SO THAT <br />THESE IMPACTS CAN BE FACTORED INTO THE LONG TERM <br />PLANNING PROCESS. <br />OBJECTIVE -1 <br />February 1991 <br />March 1991 <br />June 1991 <br />July 1991 <br />September 1991 <br />Collect all available data and locations for existing <br />drinking water well yields and contamination testing, <br />USGS groundwater hydrology studies, septic tank failures, <br />underground storage tanks, pesticide and herbicide uses, <br />etc., as required to begin the process for making assessments <br />of existing groundwater resource quality, availability and <br />vulnerability to resource depletion and degradation by way of <br />existing and future land use scenarios. <br />PLAN OF ACTION <br />A. Obtain available OC Environmental Health data <br />on locations of failing septic systems. <br />B. Obtain Soil Conservation Service and Agricultural <br />Agricultural Extension Service data on pesticide <br />and herbicide uses, agricultural practices, well <br />tests, use of best management practices, etc. <br />C.
