Report, page 2 <br />4 <br />R <br />May 4, 1988: 7:00 pm, at the Human Services Building, Chapel Hill. <br />Commissioner Don Willhoit presided. Twenty -three committee <br />members attended, and 11 staff and consultants. <br />The major .event of the evening was a report on the Public Opinion <br />Survey made by IOR &C during the week of April 11 - 14, 1988. Also, <br />members took a tour of the Health and Human Services Building, and <br />received information on county financial policies, debt service, and <br />available resources. Dr. Anna Niemitz, facilitator, was introduced. <br />She explained the decision making process that was to be followed in <br />the next two meetings. <br />May 12, 1988: 7:30 pm, Agriculture and Planning Building, <br />Hillsborough. <br />Karen Gottovi presided at this meeting. Twenty -four committee <br />members attended, with 8 staff. <br />The process was again discussed, and more financial information <br />was made available for committee members. The committee voted to <br />include the reservoir and landfill projects in their CIP discussion. <br />Members were divided into 4 heterogeneous groups for discussion <br />purposes. Each group evaluated a different set of projects, and <br />prioritized them in terms of the 1 - S year CIP and the years beyond <br />it. The groups reconvened into the large group where reporters from <br />each group presented its priority recommendations. <br />May 18, 1988: 7:30 pm, Agriculture and Planning Building, Hillsborough <br />Moses Carey and Don Willhoit presided at the meeting. Twenty - <br />eight members attended, and 11 staff. The CIP recommendations were <br />finalized, with two changes from what was proposed from the small <br />groups on May 12. The group sub divided into small groups again, and <br />discussed priorities for the bond issue. When the large group <br />reconvened, the committee came to consensus on.its recommendations for <br />the bond issue.
