Copies of the 1986 Orange County Facilities Study and the
court facilities in Orange County have been distributed to the Board.
It is not apparent that any action was taken on the Court study, while
only a portion of the Orange County Facilities Study was approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Components of both documents however, may
serve as a foundation for the update to the facilities study proposed
in the 1991 -96 CIP.
Specific areas yet to be addressed include:
- -The Court system; long -term space needs assessment and
recommendations;
- -Law Enforcement; Administrative function and Jail;
-- Potential best use of the Court Street Annex after County
Administration offices are moved to new building;
-- Parking for the downtown Hillsborough County campus; and
- -How much expansion can /should take place on the existing
Hillsborough County campus.
It is expected that the updated facilities study will explore each of
these and will present options that will best address the needs
identified by the study.
