Last year, the Economic Development <br />Commission (EDC) investigated various options for <br />providing counseling, training, and financial <br />assistance. The EDC proposed, and the Board of County <br />Commissioners included in our budget, funds to <br />contract with the Small Business and Technology <br />Development Center (SBTDC) to provide those services. <br />The County's proposed commitment is for $5,000 <br />quarterly through July 30, 1992, after which the SBTDC <br />would continue to provide services to Orange County at <br />no cost to the County. The SBTDC began to offer <br />services to our employers in November 1990. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />To approve the contract and authorize the County <br />Manager to execute. <br />
