Since we are the first property owners to make application for land <br /> use change in this area, there is also a concern that past publicity <br /> mentioning "mega-malls" and large residential areas within the <br /> northeast quadrant may afffect this proposal. Since there has been no <br /> prior application for land use change in the northern quadrants, we <br /> can see no conflict or detriment to the county based solely on the <br /> parcel's jAposition to Hillsborough or the other quadrants of this <br /> interchange. <br /> Finally, the continuation of agricultural use will limit the owners' <br /> use of the property to alternatives which will not add to the county <br /> tax base and will probably diminish the appearance of the half-mile of <br /> interstate frontage. <br /> We hope that the decision for this amendment will offer potential for <br /> the growth of central Orange County, as well as providing a reasonable <br /> use for the property owners. <br />
