r <br /> Medium and higher-intensity commercial and industrial <br /> development, that would be most appropriately served by a <br /> water and sewer system, would be located within the US-70/1-85 <br /> corridor south and west of the Efland community to the <br /> extraterritorial planning jurisdiction of Mebane . <br /> The area contains a number of cultural and historic laces of <br /> significance. These are characterized by <br /> worship, among those the Efland Baptist Church, the Efland- <br /> United Methodist Church, the Efland Presbyterian Church, <br /> Gaines Chapel A a has its own community Holiness <br /> school - Efland/Cheeks <br /> land/Cheeks <br /> Temple. The area i <br /> Elementary, and is als o served by JOCCA (Joint Orange-Chatham <br /> Community Action) • <br /> The Efland community is served, "to some extent, by the <br /> Orange-Alamance Water System, and is provided limited sewer <br /> service through orange County. <br /> Efland is surrounded on the north, south and east by <br /> agricultural land uses , with more suburban land uses to the <br /> west (toward Mebane) . <br /> Buckhorn Road and Frasier Road is the ridge line between two <br /> major river basins - the Cape Fear Rive= basin and the Neuse <br /> F east of that ridge ) drains into <br /> River basin. The Efland Area ( F Pazr_ico <br /> the Eno and then the Neuse Rivers before ente-�ng <br /> Sound at New Bern.
