RESOLUTION EXPRESSING CONCERN ABOUT THE POTENTIAL, EFFECTS OF <br />WIDENING HIGHWAY NC 54 ON n1E STATER QUALITY OF THE CANE CREEK AND <br />UNIVERSITY LAKE WATER SUPPLY RESERVOIRS <br />.WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation has <br />Published a feasibility study (R -2538, September 28, 1990) for <br />widening NC 54 from Burlington to Carrboro; and <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners will conduct <br />a public hearing to receive comments for submittal to the Department <br />of Transportation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />I. That the Board of Directors of Orange Water and Sewer - <br />Authority hereby expresses its concern about potential direct and <br />secondary effects of the proposed project on the quality of its Cane <br />Creek and University Lake water supply reservoirs; and <br />2. That the Board of Directors authorizes and directs its <br />Chairman and Executive Director to prepare a statement of such <br />concern for presentation at the public hearing to be conducted by <br />the Orange County Board of Commissioners. <br />Adopted this 9th day of January, 1991. <br />Lois T.
