"Floor" means.the = surface of an enclosed area in a <br />building includin basement i.e„ tot of slab - concrete <br />slab construction or top of wood flooring in wood =rase <br />construction. The term does not include the floor of a <br />garage used solely for oarkin vehicles. <br />"Functionally Dependent Facility" means a facilitv which <br />cannot be used for its intended purcose unless it is located <br />or carried out in close proximity to water, such as a dock ^c <br />os. gort- facility- necessary_ for -the loading-and unloading of <br />cargo or passengers, shipbuildina_ shin repair, or seafood <br />processing facilities. The term does not include lor.c -term <br />storage, manufacture sales, or service facilities. <br />"Richest Adjacent Grade" means the highest natural el- evation <br />of the ground surface, prior to construction next to the <br />ro osed walls of the structure. <br />"Historic Structure" means a__nv structure that is: (a) listed <br />individually in the National Recister of Historic places ra <br />listing maintained by t e US De artment of- Interio wL or <br />preliminarily determined by the Secretary of Interior as <br />meetinct the recairements for individual listing On the <br />National Recister; (b)_ certified or preliminarily determined <br />by the Secretary of the Interior as contributing to the <br />historical significance of a recistered historic district or <br />a district preliminarily determined by the Secretary to <br />cualifv as a registered historic district: individually <br />i its ed on a State inventory of historic places; Ld1 <br />individually listed on a local inventory of hi s �o= is nlaces <br />in communities with historic preservation nroc,ams that have <br />been certified Ll)_ by an approved state program as determined <br />by the Secretary of the Interior or 12)_ directly by -he <br />Secretary of Interior in states without approved procrams_ <br />"Levee" means a man -made structure usually an earthen <br />embankment, designed and constructed in accordance y,_-:h sound <br />engineering ractices to contain, controi, 2M- <br />0. divert -he =low <br />= water so as to p--ovide protection from temporary "loodinc. <br />"Lowest F oor" means the lowest floor of the lowest enclosed <br />area (including basement).
