Bradshaw 2 <br />2227 wildcat Creek Road <br />Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27516 <br />(919) 9294903 <br />January 4, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: Orange County Zoning Ordinance Table 4.3 <br />TO: Orange County Planning & Zoning Board <br />I respectfully request'a review and revision of Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance Table 4.3 concerning golf courses to permit driving and practice <br />ranges in AR & R1 residential areas. <br />Recreational practice ranges provide an outlet for those persons wishing to <br />improve skills but who may have limited weekly hours to devote to a full <br />round or game. They are best located in proximity to residential areas and <br />are low traffic generators so as not to interfere with pattern or flow of <br />local traffic. <br />The open acreage required for such an endeavor is found in AR areas and one <br />of the best applications for open space conservation is a well manicured driving <br />and practice range. <br />These additions to Table 4.3 are needed to obtain an additional dimension in <br />recreation in our county. <br />Sincerely Yours, <br />I am <br />/1 <br />/John T.
