Appendix P <br />ASSURANCE OF COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 504 OF THE REHABELITATION <br />ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED AND THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT.OF <br />1990 <br />County of Orange <br />hereby assures and certifies <br />(Name of Applicant) <br />that it will comply with the regulations concerning nondiscrimination on the basis of <br />disability for transportation services provided with assistance from the Section 18 <br />program. We hereby assure that the following eight (8) service criteria will be met: <br />1. All persons who, by reason of disability, are unable to use the bus system for <br />the general public are eligible to use the specialized service. <br />2. Specialized service is provided to a disabled person within a response time <br />equivalent to the response time provided to individuals without disabilities. <br />3. Fares for the specialized service are comparable to a regular general public fare <br />for the same or a similar trip. <br />4. Specialized service is available throughout the same days and hours as service <br />for the general public. <br />5. Specialized service is available throughout the same service area as for the <br />general public service. <br />5. Restrictions or priorities based on trip purpose are prohibited. <br />7. Availability of information and reservations capability is equivalent to that <br />provided individuals without disabilities. <br />8. Any constraints on capacity or service availability are equivalent to that of <br />individuals without disabilities. <br />-53- <br />
