I <br />3 <br />SAMPLE PROJECTS <br />The following are examples of projects which were funded in 1990: <br />archaeological investigations to document the locations of <br />approximately 300 homesteads Occupied by Native Americas <br />Prior to their removal from the state ($89000 grant) <br />comprehensive architectural survey of 300 neighborhood <br />Properties and preparation of National Register nomination <br />for the identified historic district ($5,075 grant) <br />intense County survey of approximately 700 architecturally <br />and historically significant properties in both rural and <br />urban :areas ($17,500 grant) <br />archaeological investigations at a prehistoric_ village to <br />evaluate the nature, extent and National Registrar of Historic <br />Places significance of the site and gather new information <br />concerning the distribution of prehistoric settlement in the <br />Blue Ridge Mountains ( §2,000 grant) <br />APPLICATION PROCESS <br />Apply by January 31, 1991 on the attached Grant Application Form. <br />Send completed application to: Lloyd Childers, grants administrator, <br />Stag Historic Preservation Office, N.C.
