2 <br />F, <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES <br />Activities funded under this program will be performed in compliance with the <br />applicable Secretary of the Intprior's "Standards for Archeology and Historic <br />Preservation," and shall be conducted under the supervision of the Historic <br />Preservation Office. <br />Qualifications of thy: staff., consultants, or principal investigators <br />undertaking the work must meet the applicable'mi.nimal professional <br />qualifications in 36 CFR 61, Appendix A. <br />Grantees will be expected to sign an Equal Opportunity Stk-ltement <br />SELECTION CRITERIA <br />All proposals will be reviewed and evaluated on the basis of the following. <br />• ContribUL1.011S to the State comprehensive plan for <br />archaeological and architectural resources <br />• emphasis in areas of known developmenL acLivity <br />•, contribution to statewide inventories of resourcaes <br />• quality of resources in project- area <br />• soundness of project application <br />• imp.icL on local community <br />A full explanation of the project selection process, including detailed <br />saelter_tion criteria, is available from Lloyd Childers, grants_ administrator, <br />State historic Preeservation Office, N.C. Typical Survey and Planning projects include <br />comprehensive architectural or archaeological surveys, nominations to the <br />National Rugistur of Historic Places, and proservar.ion plans. Publication of <br />Surveys, museum exhi.bi.LS, rosearch,.and t.ducaLional programs are usually not <br />funded. <br />1_ <br />
