5 <br />1991 SURVEY AND PLANNING GRANT APPLICATION <br />State Historic Preservation Office <br />Division of Archives and History <br />North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources <br />Deadline; January 31, 1991 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />PLEASE USE THE ATTACHED APPLICATION FORM for proposed projects <br />funded by the 1991 Survey and Planning (S &P) Grant. In 1991, <br />activities may include such activities as archaeological and <br />architectural surveys, nominations to the National Register of <br />Historic Places and preservation plans. Priority for funding will <br />be given to projects involving completion of the statewide <br />architectural and archaeological surveys. <br />After review by the Historic Preservation Office, your proposed <br />project(s) may be included in the 1991 Application for Federal <br />Assistance to the National Park Service, U. S. Department of the <br />Interior. If federal assistance becomes available, you may be <br />requested to submit additional information. <br />North Carolina's historic preservation program rrtceives federal <br />financial assistance for identification and preservation of historic <br />properties. Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1904 and <br />Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the U.S. Department <br />of the Interior prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, <br />color, national origin, or handicap in its federally— assisted <br />programs.
