Of the total amount, <br />$61,000 is reserved for grants in communities that <br />participate in the Certified Local Government (CLG) <br />program. Chapel Hill became a CLG in October, 1990 <br />and is eligible for such grants. The remaining <br />communities, including Orange County, may apply for <br />grants from the remaining $40,000. <br />Grant applications must be completed and submitted <br />to the HPO by January 31, 1991. Grants will be <br />awarded in May, 1991, and projects may begin in <br />June, 1991. Projects must be completed by July 31, <br />1992. <br />In 1986, the Planning Department completed <br />preparation of An Inventor r of Sites of Cultural <br />Historical Recreational Biolo ical and geological <br />Significance-in the Unincor orated Portions of <br />Orange Count .
