The ArtsCenter Draft Business Plan Proposal <br />SECTION I ArtSchool <br />For the next nine (9) month=, we will continue to focus or-, <br />increasinq the number of students. The budgeted fiqur °e for <br />student enrollment for 199 0/91 is 800, The enrollment for <br />frill 1990 was 156 and the winter enrollment is 150. We have. <br />targeted 150 for the sp ring ses,_ion which will bring tpt�al <br />claw enrollment for th e year to 456. The summer session <br />will be offered in three worksho sessions thereby incre,asinq <br />the number of .available slats. The three sessions will also <br />offer people who are unable to attend a longer session, <br />because of vacations or Previous committments, an opportunity <br />to enroll. We plan on enrolling TO students or the June <br />workshop. <br />July and August CASE program enrollment was 210 plus the <br />projected 60 for June ofw1991 will bring this total to 270. <br />This will bring enrollment for the year to 726. Although <br />this is somewhat short of projections, as you can see from <br />the attached budget, it will cover expenses and contribute <br />to overhead expense. <br />Another goal for this time period is to obtain grant funding <br />for salary support for a Curriculum Development position <br />(grant to be written and submitted by 1 December-19901. <br />We intend to apply to the following foundations) for support <br />of this position and its attendant responsibilities: <br />Broyhill Family Foundation,—Inc. <br />Lenoir, NC <br />This Foundation emphasizes education, social services, the <br />arts and health mare. We will be requesting support for <br />the coordinator's salary from this foundation. <br />Adele M. Thomas Trust <br />Chapel Hill, NC <br />This Foundation planes emphasis on religion and social <br />services with support..also for the arts and education. We <br />will be requesting scholarships for attendees from this <br />Foundation. <br />A.E. Finleyy Foundation, Inc. <br />Raleigh, NC <br />This Foundation emphasizes education and health care as well <br />and support for social services and the arts.. We will be <br />requesting support for classroom materials. and furniture. <br />Even if the grants are not received, the ArtSchool will be <br />able to produce Surpplus income which is not restricted (see <br />attached budget). We will then attempt to hire the <br />coordinator out of the unrestricted surplus fends. The <br />materials and furniture can be postponed and the scholarships <br />-2- <br />10 <br />
