To seek additional funding from other governmental agencies and private <br />sources to enhance the funding and programs of the Authority. <br />E. To seek a commitment from the Town of Chapel Hill for a minimum of <br />twenty percent (20 %) of their existing hotel /motel occupancy tax to <br />be used to support the funding and programs of the Authority. <br />F. To request the Authority, when established, to continue to explore <br />alternative sources of long -term funding. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLOVED that The Hillsborough Area Chamber of Commerce Board of <br />Directors requests the Orange County Economic Development Commission and the muni <br />cipalities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough to support the creation of <br />an Orange.,County Visitor Development Authority. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by The Hillsborough Area Chamber of Commerce Board of <br />Directors that we pledge our cooperation and support to the Orange County Board <br />Of Commissioners and the municipalities of Chapel Hill,' Carrboro and Hillsborough <br />to secure the necessary legislation to authorize the creation and establishment <br />of the Visitor Development Authority and further advises that we stand ready to <br />assist in implementing the programs of the Visitor Development Authority. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, <br />that the Hillsborough Area Chamber of Commerce in endorsin <br />the advancement of the Orange County Visitor Development Authority does so in <br />anticipation and expectation of the support and cooperation of the proposed <br />authority in carrying forward the purposes and programs of the Hillsborough Area <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />Adopted December 13, 1990 <br />n <br />
