A <br />NO'S- FAMILY HOUSEHOLDS <br />C: <br />�1ost r,f the far.;ily households in North Carolina and Orange <br />County are maintained by married couples, though a considerable <br />percent are maintained by wornen alone, and a very small percent by <br />single men alone. The majority of rlopulation in North Carolina <br />and Orange County live in families but a considerably percentage, <br />22. u, of North Carolina population and ,Q . _, ,: of Orange Cour,t\ <br />iDoPulation, do not lire in family households. Other types -f <br />households may include dormitories, shared quarters, convents and <br />others. <br />AGE, RACE AND GENDER <br />The trend observed in the two years 1980 and 1988, is that a <br />larger percentage of nonwhites falls below age 20 and above age <br />50, which means that a larger percentage of nonwhites are of <br />nonworking age, compared to the percentage of whites of nonworking <br />age.
