t <br />Page 8 <br />PUBLIC NUISANCE <br />County ordinance prohibits- animals from running at <br />large,owners from creating dog packs by not confining dogs in <br />heat, animals from damaging property,habitually causing noise <br />problems and animals from attacking livestock, pets and <br />people. This section of the ordinance is used by the Animal <br />Control officers to effectively control animal - related <br />problems and control the animal population. Approximately <br />80% of all calls for Animal Control services are in reference <br />to violations of this section of the ordinance. <br />Animal Control procedure dictates that an Animal Control <br />officer respond to a call, observe a violation and /or receive <br />a signed complaint from the citizen and investigate. Animals are captured and impounded at <br />the Animal Shelter when they are found running at large and <br />must be redeemed by their owners. Redemption of animals <br />requires that the owner pay redemption and boarding fees <br />before his /her pet can be released.
