Greene, <br />Jr., Attorney at Law from Charlotte, N. C., you will find <br />that Mr. Greene certifies to the fact that he inadvertently <br />miscalculated the Excise Stamp Tax that was to be affixed to <br />the Deed cited above. <br />This matter has been referred to the County Attorney.. <br />Mr. Gledhill has rendered the opinion that Orange County <br />could reimburse Mr. Greene the sum of $1,535.00 under the <br />provisions contained in G.S. 105 - 228.30; therefore, I am <br />requesting that the Orange County Board of .Commissioners <br />authorize the Finance Director to issue to Robert J. Greene, <br />Jr. the sum of $1,535.00 based on the evidence submitted that <br />this was an error in calculation on the part of Mr. Greene. <br />Mr. Greene has forwarded to this office the original <br />recorded Deed along with' the recording fee for the <br />rerecording of this document. Upon the authorization of the <br />Board of Commissioners to refund the requested monies the <br />Deed will be rerecorded along with a copy of the Affidavit <br />submitted by Mr. Greene. The Excise Stamp Tax amount will be <br />corrected to reflect the correct amount of:Excise Stamp Tax <br />due on said Deed and a notation will be 'affixed to said <br />rerecorded Deed by the Finance Director and the Register of <br />Deeds. The public record, after the rerecording of the Deed, <br />will then reflect the steps that have been taken in order to <br />resolve this matter. <br />
