10.Promote cooperative efforts to secure funding and to 7 <br />strengthen inter - agency communication. <br />ongoing Orange County Schools have acquired funding for the <br />Providing Opportunities for Peer Support (POPS) Project, <br />an inter- agency, multi- strategy approach to reducing <br />adolescent pregnancy. A Director will be hired by <br />December 1990. <br />ongoing The Orange County Community Advisory Council will explore <br />models for networking of human services delivery. <br />Ongoing The drop -out prevention /at -risk coordinators from <br />Chapel Hill /Carrboro City schools and orange County <br />Schools are jointly examining human services delivery <br />models to explore more effective and cost - efficient <br />approaches. <br />8.Designate funds for support services in schools. <br />9.Add support staff targeted toward at -risk students in <br />elementary and middle schools. <br />Completed Orange County Schools and the County Department of Social <br />Services have developed a protocol which permits Social <br />Services to counsel /investigate student /family problems <br />when necessary and appropriate. <br />Ongoing Chapel Sill /Carrboro Schools and the County Department <br />of Social services have been meeting to develop a <br />protocol by May 1991. <br />
