�A <br />-- Chairs the Needs Assessment Committee of the Youth Services Needs <br />Task Force, serves on the Orange High School Vocational Educational <br />Program Area Advisory Council, and participates in the Northern <br />Orange Group for Youth and Association of Community Agencies to <br />promote communication and collaboration efforts. <br />The management assistant will continue to meet with the necessary <br />personnel to discuss implementation of the Youth Symposium and <br />Poverty Forum recommendations. A final Symposium report and a final <br />Forum report, addressing each recommendation, will be submitted to <br />the Board by early 1991. The management assistant will continue to <br />assess the County youth service needs, maintain regular contact with <br />County youth service agencies and organizations, identify gaps or <br />overlaps in service delivery, and recommend ways to remedy the <br />problems identified. The management assistant will also evaluate <br />and explore possibilities for implementing some of the suggestions <br />from youth services providers, including a directory for service <br />providers, a brochure for teens and their families, workshops, and <br />an ongoing coordinating mechanism. <br />The management assistant will also assist in the coordination of the <br />second stage of the Z.Smith Reynolds Opportunities for Families Fund <br />planning grant. The planning grant, awarded to 15 counties, <br />provides for a nine month planning process to develop a detailed <br />final application. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Receive report as information. <br />
