L � <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF awcE <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />The Orange County Health Department <br />Hillsborough, N. C. <br />AND <br />She University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill <br />for its Department of Pediatrics of the School of Medicine <br />THIS AGRE jEmT, made and entered into this the 1st day of July 1983, by and <br />between The University of North Carolina at Chapel Rill, herinafter referred <br />to as "The University" for its Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine <br />and the Orange County Health Department, herinafter referred to as "The Health <br />Department." <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, The Health Department desires to contract with The University for the <br />services of a pediatrician and -other health providers in the Hillsborough <br />Clinic; and <br />WHEREAS, The University, through the Department of Pediatrics, shall provide <br />this service to the Health Department: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and of the following mutual <br />promises, covenants, and conditions, The Health Department and The University <br />agree as follows: <br />1. A pediatrician from The University will provide pediatric <br />services in the Health Department's Hillsborough Clinic one half day each <br />week daring the contract period. On most weeks this pediatrician will be <br />Dr. Mary Glenn Fowler, an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics. <br />A full trained pediatrician will be provided from the staff of the Division of <br />Community Pediatrics on those occasions when Dr. Fowler is unable to attend. in <br />addition to providing direct pediatric services during this period, the faculty <br />member will review the child health activities of the nurse practitioners on the <br />Health Department staff and sign their charts when appropriate. Dr. Fowler <br />and other members of the Division of Community Pediatrics will be available <br />by phone for consultation with the nurse practitioners employed by the Health <br />Department during regular Health Department hours. <br />2. A family curse practitioner, Mrs. Betty Compton, clinical <br />assistant professor of pediatrics, will work iu the child health clinics in <br />Hillsborough one half day each week. As part of her duties, Mrs. Compton will <br />supervise a pediatric resident who will work in the clinic one half day each <br />week as part of the resident's training experience. <br />„rry <br />1• <br />
