Pikes <br />HUD Resolution <br />Annual Contributions Contract TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -9501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an <br />Annual Contributions Contract for the Section 8 Existing <br />Certificate and Voucher Program. <br />BACKGROUND: On October 5, 1990, the County received from the Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development an additional allocation <br />of 15 certificates with budget authority in the amount of <br />$82,308. We also received an additional allocation of 22 <br />vouchers to be used in our Section 8 Existing Voucher <br />Program. The voucher budget authority will be increased by <br />$128.414. <br />This will enable the Housing and Community Development <br />Department to provide rental assistance to 37 additional <br />families in the County. Presently, the County has budget <br />authority for 388 certificates and 82 vouchers. This new <br />allocation will increase these numbers to 403 certificats <br />and 104 vouchers. <br />In order to receive these new allocations, two Annual <br />Contributions Contract must be executed. This contract is <br />an agreement between the County and HUD to provide housing <br />assistance payments to eligible participants. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the Chair to sign an Annual <br />Contributions Contract for the Section 8 Existing <br />Certificate and Voucher Program on behalf of the Board. <br />
