Flood Insurance Rate Map F1 with base <br />flood depths from one to three feet where a clearly defined <br />channel does not exist,_ where the path of floodin is <br />unpredictable and indeterminate, and where velocity_ flow may <br />be evident. <br />"Area of Special Flood Hazard" is the land in the flood lain <br />within a community subject to a one erp_cent or rg_eater chance <br />of being equaled or exceeded in any given year. <br />"Artificial obstruction" means any obstruction, which is not <br />a natural obstruction, including any which, while not a <br />significant obstruction in itself, is capable of accumulating <br />debris and, thereby, reducing the flood- carrying capacity of <br />the stream. <br />"Base Flood" means the flood having a one percent chance of <br />being equaled or exceeded in any given year, also known as <br />the 100 -year flood. <br />"Basement" means that lowest level or story which has its <br />floor subgrade an all sides. <br />'Breakaway Wall" means a wall that is not part of the <br />structural support of the building and is 'nth ended through <br />its design and construction to collapse under svecific <br />lateral loading forces without causin damage to the elevated <br />portion of the building or the su portin foundation system. <br />A breakaway wall shall have a design safe loading resistance <br />of not less than 10 and no more than 20 Rounds per square <br />foot. A wall with loading resistance of more than 20 hounds <br />per square foot requires a r)rofessional engineer or <br />architect's certificate. <br />"Building ".means any structure built for su -onort, shelter, or <br />enclosure for A=. occupgncy or storage. <br />"Development" means any man -made change to improved or' <br />unimproved real estate, including, but not limited to, <br />buildings or other structures, mining, dredging, filling, <br />grading, paving, excavation or drilling operations, or <br />storage of equipment or materials. <br />"Elevated Building" means a non - basement building built <br />in the case of a building in Zones Al -n.30, AE, As A991 AC, <br />AH, L Cs or X to have the ton of the elevated floor, or in <br />the case of a buiiding in Zones V1 -V30, VE, or v_ to have the <br />bottom of the lowest horizontal structure member of the <br />elevated floor above the cround means of piling1 columns <br />
