10 <br />PHASE 1: ASSESSMENT <br />This phase provides a careful assessment of the information systems needed and <br />already in place within the Data Processing Department and each of the eleven <br />departments to be included in the Master Client Indent File System. Throughout this <br />phase, the HSL will become more familiar with the computer hardware and software <br />already in use. It will also be important to identify the specific additional needs, if any, <br />for each department within the system. The three tasks in this phase are <br />• Task 1: Develop and distribute comprehensive MCIF Assessment Form <br />• Task 2: Meet with key personnel in each department <br />• Task 3: Meet with the Human Services Management Team <br />Task 1: Develop and distribute comprehensive MCW Assessment Form <br />The development of a MCXF Assessment form used to evaluate the Data <br />Processing Department and the eleven Human Service Departments will include inquiry <br />into three areas of information sharing: hardware, software and physical Iayout. <br />Hardware includes the computers, printers, etc. that are used and/or needed by each <br />department. The assessment of the software will include inquiry into software packages <br />already in use, data which may be useful to the Master Client Index File and the <br />confidentiality needs within and among departments.
