New Hope Creek Corridor Study Committee <br />Eidenier stated that she was unable to attend <br />the meeting. She had, however, submitted a <br />statement to Emily Crudup to be distributed at <br />the meeting. <br />Hamilton indicated she provide the information <br />regarding the next meeting and bring it back to <br />the Planning Board. <br />AGENDA ITEM #8: MATTERS HEARD AT PUBLIC HEARING (5/16/90) <br />Phil Post, Wendy Olson, and Dick Swank of the <br />Transportation Advisory Subcommittee met with the <br />Planning Board for consideration of the items listed <br />below. <br />a. Private Roads <br />(1) Section IV /V - Subdivision Regulations <br />(2) Private Road Standards <br />Marvin Collins reviewed his concerns about the <br />,oronosed amendments to the Private Road Standards <br />and Subdivision Regulations. (:iis memo is an <br />attachment to these minutes on paces .) Collins <br />stated that he is not philosophically opposed to the <br />aroaosed amendments. He stated that the proposed <br />standards legitimize, through ordinance amen=ents, <br />development patterns already occurring. Such a <br />concern is More of a des i cn consider at .on . Collins <br />noted, thouch, that a create= concern is _he <br />citizens of the County :,.ay not be aware of the <br />imtlications of these provisions. <br />A Planning Department coal and nd mandate fra,. the <br />tm <br />County Co=,issiorers, is to improve the deoartme.t's <br />public image.- It is very. important that esforts <br />to achieve that goal not e dis -Lilted by enacting <br />rern:lations which are not t:nderstood by everyone. <br />Collins continued, reviewing the memorandum in <br />detail. Considerable discussion followed recard,nc <br />the concerns expressed in the memaranaal -M. <br />Best stated that the intent is not to take. away tae <br />abi1_ty for private roads. He noted .-hat -e <br />wording could be changed to address the cancer=s <br />
